We design and manufacture a whole range of make-ups, starting from a basic beauty make-up through to character make-up to casualty make-up to fantasy and horror. Also within our scope is to manufacture fully articulate puppets for use where no human could possibly go and do things that would seemingly be impossible.
Remember, the art of make-up is creating an illusion that appears to be real. If the audience sees a six legged, hairy back penguin landing on Mars and they believe it then the make-up has worked. OK, so that example may be a bit extreme but you get the general idea of what we are trying to achieve.
Our staff have worked in the industry for the last 10 years and our products have been used in many applications such as movies, TV dramas, photographic shoots and private functions. We provide a service to many sectors of British life from movie and television companies, voluntary organisations and private individuals.
We are used to providing quality products in an extremely limited timespan. We also pride ourselves on our imagination and ability to adapt processes we have already used.
With the backing of 3D solid modelling computer technology for our mechanical designs, CNC machining facilities and a dedicated, experienced engineering staff our internal mechansisms for mechanical puppets are second to none.
With all these factors taken into consideration we have a very powerful, capable and customer friendly studio.
In the past it has been noticed that many people in the trade seem to believe that they belong to the Magic Circle and will not divulge the secrets of their trade. To that end, in the following pages, we will try to provide a step by step breakdown on how various effects are created.
